[updated:LAST EDITED ON Jul-22-05 AT 02:19 PM (CST)]I will take any tips and/or tricks on how to soundproof the cab of my 1987 reg cab silverado from enging and road noise. I would like to sound like a brand new chevy inside which is not much sound. Anything is appreciated. Thanks!

You should probably start with new weatherstripping for the entire cab and sound deadener for the floor and firewall. When we replaced only the weatherstripping on my brother's '78 the wind and road noise dropped considerably, although the engine and transmission noise is still pretty loud.

if/when you have your door panels off add some sound deadner inside the door too, it will help insulate against the weather and help keep road noise down and your Music in. Basically any time you notice bare metal to the outsie of the truck or towards the firwall, if it's not going to be seen add sound deadner or dynomat works well too.
