Hello, I'm new to American vehicles (VW Guy) and just aquired a 56' GMC and I want to lower it a tad is there any good web sites out there? I searched the threads first with no luck. Thanks

Is that an English or a Metric tad?

Cheapest way is to remove one or two leaves from each spring. I took out the 2nd and fourth counting from the bottom. Dropped my front bumper about an inch and a half.

You can buy mono-leaf springs that will take your truck down a couple of inches and reversed eye mono-leaf springs that will go an inch or so more. May induce bump steer. May bottom out on the rubber frame bumpers when you hit a bump.

Some one like Eaton can build you a stock spring pack with a reversed eye, which would drop your truck about 1.5" and still maintain the characteristics of the stock spring.

Thanks Bill, I found the Brothers Truck Parts site last night and I bought a Truck mag this morning. I'm pretty stoked about tinkering with the truck. I'm pretty used to driving my bug so I will probably go into shock when I have to fill the tank. The 472 Caddy motor in it will pass everything but a gas station.
