I have a 1983 Chevy Silverado (305) Temp guage quit q few weeks ago. I cannot locate a sending unit like the one that came from the factory (nipple end). Having said that I think the problem may not be the sending unit. Not being a mechanic I am stumped on how to proceed. If anyone can help I would be most appreciative. Thanks ray w
The way to check if it is the Gauge or not is touch the wire that goes to the sending unit to ground and the gauge should go all the way up or make some movement....if that works than replace the sending unit... you can get them at any local auto parts store....even if the end looks different...just cut the end of the wire off and hook it on...
