Now for the confusing thing. I told in earlier posts how I had a greed on a price then he trie dto take me up more and we compromized. When he started getting the stuff out to work on the bed this week he decided on his own to skip trying to fix the head gate and tail gate and went ahead and ordered new ones. When he told me I said tht it was good that he did that and I was thinking of suggesting it myself. Today we were talling about the last draw for the job and I told him to either let me pay the bill for the head gate and tail gate directly or I would reimburse him for them and for any of his nuts and bolts that he had used out of his personal stock. He said no. He wouldn't let me pay him for the parts even though I said I would be glad to. Now he says that he had pushed the envoloe on what he could get from me and that he would pay for the parts himself. I honestly don't know what to think. Bottom line is that he seems fine with it and the truck far exceeds my expectations. I will bring it home tomorrow and post some pictures in the sunlight. No, Zig, there won't be any KC flames on it yet.

If you don't mind me askin, how long did it take for all that he did on the truck? Did you do some of the prep work before he started or did he do it all. Just wondering (you know why) because I'm still waiting on the Boops.

BTW - even with the dark pictures it looks aw-some. I'm sinning right at this point.... i'm envious. My grandad used to say something like "I wish I had that and he had a feather under his nose and weed both be tickled"

    LOOKS BEAUTIFUL!!!!! :) :) :) :) :)

    How long?

    Boops Dad,
First, thank you for the old time saying from your Grandad. My father has a million of them and I can never hear enough.
Since a picture is worth a thousand words I will show you what the truck looked like on Oct 6, 2006. It looks like some prep has been done but he actually ignored all that had been done and took it back to bare metal cause he did not trust that it had been done right. He probably has somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 hours in this now. If you want to see all the work click here.

    Hours

Hey, that has come a long way baby!

I'm actually suposed to be prepairing for Sunday's sermon. but I can't help myself, I have to check CP Talk every now and then

It looks like to me that you put in "just a few hour yourself" before he got it. How long before it will be road ready?

We ought to get together some type of meet where all the trucks talked about on here meet sometime during the year at some place... I volunteer the metroplex of Gallatin. I bet even all 368 people who live around here would come out to see. :D

You have something there to be very proud of.

Congratulation on your new (old) baby...

One thing I hope you do, if you haven't already, is take him to a local computer, log into this site, pull up just your posts, and SHOW him what you have done for his career! He's looking to relocate? You have done him SO much justice! I don't have the bucks (teacher) but if I did- I'd hire this guy in a flash!
