Hey, hows it going. I have a 56 chevy pickup that has had a fill restoration and a 350 V8 swap. I also swaped ina m21 close ratio 4 speed trans and i am on my final part of the drive line update. When i got my truck it had had the rear end swapped out for one out of a 1951 chevy. I do know the rear end is a 10 bolt but i do now know what size. I am looking to switch the rear end over from a 6 lug patter to a 5 on 4 3/4" lug pattern to match the front. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the size of the rear end and if they had built one encluding a posi and new axles and how it is holding up. I was debating on switching a newer camero rear end into the truck but this one looks to visually be fine so why not just work with what i have. I was also wondering if anyone knew of a rear drum that would fit the sock shoe's and is a 5 on 4 3/4" bolt pattern?/ Sorry for the long post but thanks in advance for the help.

Hey Garret- Schools started back up, so I'm limited on check-in time. Sounds like a fun project you're doing. I'm no expert, and since you're doing a '56, I'm not sure if the frame width, etc is like that of 47~54s. If it IS, ther's all kinds of great info on rear end swaps on this site! By now, probably a page or two back. Check those and see if they don't answer your questions. Good Luck!
