    Thumper

We might have to rename the Boopmobile and call her THUMPER. The Boop and Nate, thumpin down the back roads. The Boop kicked the new tune box up a few notches, the old 53 aint never rocked like this. She was had a smile that could be seen from blocks away, and heard too.

I think nate has the right idea, ifin ya gotta go, might as well go in style...;)

    Today's Fun

Well, as I said, the Boop and I put in the headliner. We also got the A/C unit, Ducts, vents and controls installed. Put in all cab trim, cab rubber and sun visors (see pics below) We had LOADS of fun. OH yea, forgot to mention the retaining strip for the back window (that was a buggerrrrrrrr) at least it was until I used some of my wifes 7.00 a bottle olive oil, then she slipped right in like butter... gota have the special tool though, before I got aholt of the oil I almost said some wordy durds (and I hadn't said one of those in about 30 years, no lie) about CPs add that the tool will make it easier.

Headliner - after many different attempts, dry runs, tests and failures WE GOT IT. not that bad.

I put the front piece in the bow and crimped it in the factory crimp locations, then put the rear piece in the bow and it held it's self in place. We placed the whole piece up in the cab which also held in place while markings were done to the front piece at the window for trimming. I only had to trim approx. 1/4 inch on about 1/2 the front on drivers side, the rest fit perfect. I was shocked how well it fit and how easy it was to install - AFTER I FIGURED OUT HOW  . Make sure the rear lines up with the recess where the back retainer bow goes (it centered its self). I used a ice pick to locate the holes thru the holes in the rear bow, after you get one the rest line up perfect.

Make sure to trim BEFORE you install permenantly, it is difficult to get to the areas that are curved, and you know this truck has LOTS of curves (man they'r purdy curves).

Don't get me wronge, it's a task but can be done fairly easily in 2 or 3 hours with a little patience.

Whatchathink about the A/C ducts and that beautiful red trim, reproduction visor mirror, cab light and cab rubber?

    No pics today

Sorry fellows, no pics on work done today, it don't show much and I had entirely tooooooo much company. Everybody around the hood had found out that the Boops ride is back and they see the lights on in the TENT and want to check things out.

I did get all the A/C plumbing, electrical, compressor and brackets installed but was to tired/lazy to take pics that wouldn't show much change.

Anyway, I keep ya posted as visable change comes.

The A/C is a custom unit because I was picky and didn't like any unit I found. I had RJay's Speed shop out of Missouri put the package together. She cost 1200.00 but it is soooo fine, just fitting for the Boop. I had to hook the electrical up and try it out.......... ooooppppps  , she's gona have to run it on LOWWWWWWWWWW, it will freeze/burn her out of that small cab.

It is an all electronic unit, sandin 508 compressor, round chrome billits, custom controls with Defrost, heat, vent and A/C. I know this is a lot of detail for something you cant even see but ONLY THE BEST FOR THE BOOP.......

    THAT'S WHY I WENT WITH <<<<<<<< ELECTRIC WIPERS>>>>>>>>>

Cost is no object ######### RIGHT ###########

    Dual Speaker

Well it's like this, The Boop likes her tunes and I didn't want to cut any holes, SOOOOOOOOO, I bought the dual set from LMC, it comes with a bracket attached that has to be mounted to the lower part of the dash (on bottom, not seen) because it was not vibration free as I wanted I put two 3 inch machine screws thru the dash behind the grill (also never seen) and drilled two extra holes in the upper right and left of the plastic speaker housing to pull it up tighter to the dash. The foam piece that is made to replace the original foam fits great, sealing between the dash behind the grill and the speaker. Didn't take but just a few minutes and now she has two speakers in the front and will have two in the back mounted on each side of the fuel tank. All that will be juiced up by one fine looking red amp that even matches the paint fairly well but it will be below the seat.

Sure sounds good.... couldn't wait till the truck was running to test it out so we hooked er up and pumped some tunes... fiiiiiine..... Nate, eat your heart out :D

I don't care much for any kind of music, but I have to admit it sounds good. :)

    Elvis sings gospel!

Elvis singing "How Great Thou Art" would be awesome blasting out of those speakers. Buy his gospel CD. You won't be disappointed. Trust me, I wouldn't lie to a preacher or a sherrif's deputy!

    Elvis

Thanks Ken, it seems that you seldom fail to get a chuckle on this end. I remember when Elvis died, ya woulda thought half our little town died the same day. I remember the girls a cryin and sloberin all over the place. Anywho, he did make a few good songs and a movie or two, might just have to get it and try it out.

    The King lives!

I'm not talking about the crap he starred in or the crap he sang. Get his "Gospel" CD, it will change your life. Sh*t, i'm preaching to a peacher! Sorry, Him, it won't happen again! The poor guy was a victim of his own success and sold us out in the 70's. I bought my girlfriend a ticket to see his last Memphis concert (the first in Tennessee in 20+ years) in '75 or '76, which, by '70's bucks was huge! Couldn't afford 2 tickets, so she saw him at the Mid-South Collesiem in Memphis and I reaped the benefits for years. Long live the King! His music was mediocre at best, but his gospel music is, and always will be, the best!

    Preach on

Preach on brother, everybody needs a good sermon every now and then. My sister saw him in concert, can't remember when or where and my dad met him in person. I even worked with a man a couple of years back that was the body guard at the wake. He said "yep, Elvis really is dead" even though he's been sighted a few times since :D

Since you steered me right on the wiper situation, I'll trust you on the song and get it ASAP...
