I'm headed to the wreckers soon to look for a gas pedal assembly for my 57. The firewall above where the pedal needs to go is on the curved part of the firewall so I need the mount to be above to the left of the pedal so it can fasten to the flat part of the firewall so this creates a challenge. Just wondering what others have used from the wreckers.

We usually use a cable setup. Chevy pickups are one source but the ford cable has a return spring built into the cable which means you don't have to have a seperate spring and bracket. The cable has been used from the 70's to present. The chevy requires a little file work to make a square hole in the firewall.

I ended up using a pedal assembly from a 80ish Dodge pickup with an aftermarket cable set-up.

I managed to use the repop V8 throttle linkage. It didnt want to fit very well cause of the curve in the firewall, but I made it fit using spacers to line it up.

I used a pedal out of like an 84 or 85 chevy pickup. i mounted it on the angled part of the fire wall and it seemed to work out pretty well.
