I'm wondering about the metal filler panel that mounts to the bottom of the grille and runs back to the radiator..It's for a 51 3100....first of all what's it called... im just wondering if there is a replacement part available.....someone chopped it up and folded it under to install a electric fan on the front of the radiator......all the metal is there but its just bent up a bit.......I figure I can fix it but might take some serious time.......any thoughts on this please let me know Thanks, Leon
I've always called it the front apron (usually followed up by the one behind the grille in case they think I am talking about the one between the grille and the bumper which I call the front splash pan) but I don't know the official name. I think Chevy Duty has them but i'll bet someone on here has one they can spare.
Chevrolet called it the radiator grille lower baffle. I've seen upper baffles advertised in several catalogs, but i don't recall seeing the lower ones.
That rusty , bent Up Thing Lower Baffle it is , what a boob to cut it ~ I have an eletric pusher fan that works great and I didn't _touch_ my baffles , upper or lower to make it fit . They're out there but you gotta search , write and ask everyone who's dropping in a V-ate or breaking a junker for parts as they're often just lying in the bed , to be tossed in the trash later...
grille radiator lower baffle I posted on parts wanted for this part. I've searched for this part but it doesn't appear to be remanufactured as of January 2007. I have a factory parts manual and it doesn't illustrate it but other Chevy manuals do show it and discuss disassembly and reassembly. Jim
I need one of these, too. I looked on e-bay, gater, but couldn't find it. Any suggestions as where to look?
