As you can see, Son (age 12) and I (age 52) spent alot of time on this one - but it was my fathers. It sat in the elements of West Texas, windows out, since 1961. It had the appearance of surviving? a war zone. We learned as we went, doing all the work ourselves. It was a good father/son project, even though there was definitely some painful spots accompaning the positive aspects. Very cool!! Looks great.... my 12 year old tells me he is going to learn to drive in my '49....kids and trucks! Congrats. Paul
We live in rural West Texas and Son drives the pickup around here. He learned on a 80 Datsun pickup though (at age 10), we bought new in 1980. I was driving around the country side out here at 9, driving in town at 12. Rural is different than urban, very much (I moved from Dallas after being gone from rural for 30 years). Oh, the interior and glass works was redone mostly by CD parts and assistance (plus some inborn scavanger skills).
