Hello, First time here, and I looking for a original type decent and uncut radiator core support for a 1950 Chevy 3100.I am having hard time locating one any ideas ?
Welcome smd50 to the group. Crazy bunch we be. Only place I have seen uncut ones recently has been Ebay. Keep you eyes posted and you will come across one. Problem is finding one at a decent price.

Thanks, crazy bunches are good. I have been watching ebay. Baroda the one you told me to look at looks like its been cut and a piece welded across for support. What do think? smd
Hard to tell Hard to tell from the picture, dosen't look like it sold so you may be able to ask him some questions, buy it over the phone. Ask for better pictures!
Just a question because I don't know. Why does it matter if it's been cut and welded on as long as the weld is good and the support is strong? If you haven't found one, I may have one at dad's that I'll sell ya. I am going back home in a couple of weeks (first weekend in Feb to be exact) and I'll look around and see if I have one. Let me know if you're interested.
Kevin, I am interested let me know if you have one and what you want for it. As far as being uncut my truck is stock bodywise and is all steel. Its on the original frame that is boxed, lowered via springs & ifs and is powered by a 385hp/355ci,built turbo 350,and a 3:73 12 bolt posi. It think would give it a more finished look. Shane
Shane- Welcome, welcome! Sounds like a slick ride! What did you do about the steering with yours? We've been hashin' over steering columns and steering boxes, so just thought I'd ask what way you went. Also- what harness did you use? I can't make up my friggin' mind- V8,V6, or the 6 I have plus a T5... Thank God I'm not on any time frame to get mine done, but I would like to have it finished BEFORE I kick the bucket... I just wonder how much more of a harness you'd need? I don't need power this-n-that. Just tunes and AC would be -well- cool. I already stuck in a new harness so I could drive what I got until it came to swap-out time. I just don't know how much more crap will need a wire run to it. Anyway- let us know, K? Zig
Thanks Zig I have a Heidt's mustang II with a power rack. The steering column is mid 80's GM I got it from a guy who had it in a 32 ford coupe. I went with a Painless 12 circuit universal harness, nice kit to work with comes with everything you need. Right now I have the truck apart to paint it I finished the truck 9 years ago so its time to freshen things up. I'd like to post some pics,But I'm not sure how to post them on this site yet. Shane
posting pics look under the archives. i think i wrote something about posting pics on here previously. jon
SMD I haven't forgotten about you. I'm going to Dad's this weekend and will look for a rad. support. It'll be Monday before I can post back if I have one or not though. Just thought I'd update you.
ORIGINAL Core Support O.K. , that one has been cut , the original ones had two rods welded across the front in an ' X ' to prevent flexing ~ very , VERY hard to find anymore . I have one but it looks like I'll never use it , I paid $75.00 plus freight for it , if you want it I'll sell for same price . This is a restoration piece for those high end trucks I guess . mine is in VGC but one ear needs slight tweaking , normal on these old rigs .
Kevin & Nate, I have a support coming from Texas. A friend of mine found it Thrusday, an is shipping it today. It's uncut and has all the support rods still on it. Thanks for all the help on locating one.I'm going to try to post some pics of my truck in a couple of days. Thanks again Shane
