I have a 3 speed manual in my '69 and was origionally a column shift 3 spd manual. With the floor shift bracket I can't for the life of me get the speedo cable to screw in. Will I be okay "notching the bracket" to clear the housing that screws on to the side of the tranny?? Sorry, I don't have a pic...Yet

Would the shifter bracket fit back on AFTER the cable is attached ?

YES = Loosen the bracket enough to get the cable inserted

NO = Try notching the bracket but only after you have stared at it a half hour and determined that it won't hurt the shifter's functionality.

Thanks, I know K.I.S.S "Keep it simple stupid"..This isn't my first real truck, back in H.S. I had a '71 SWB that was the talk of the town when it came to fast, that was back when ricers were commuter cars! I appreciate the tip, I will give it a whirl.

That is a nice panel job you got there.
