my tailgate has two openings for reflectors on it. I think they are about 3" diameter, maybe 4". Does anyone have this tailgate also and know where the heck to find reflectors to use.
you can see the openings for it on either side of the lettering. Attachments: https://talk.classicparts.com/images/attachments/4350ea2f067801e7.jpg
Chevrolet didn't screw up any tailgates at the factory with reflectors , did they ? I've bad-mouthed a lot of previous owners over the years when filling the holes where reflectors were installed . ????
Oh , O.K. ; There aren't any holes per se , those are standard truck reflectors added by the PO and are really common back in the day of only one 6 volt taillight . If you poke around the site I posted some pix of my truck , I made up some passing warning signs out of the reflective tape they use on school busses and stuck it to the rear bed header underneath the tailgate , inconspicuous untill hit by any light at all in the dark then they light up brightly.... If you like those reflectors , remove them and take to a truck shop & ask for a new pair , under $10.00 the pair I should think . -Nate
RE: tailgate reflector P/N O.K. , not surprisingly I have a box full of these in my warehouse , Grote P/N 40232 for the red ones and P/N 40233 for the amber ones . I prefer the amber ones but you may get hassled by local P.D. , maybe . Any truck shop will have these in stock or NAPA can get Grote parts for you . I hope this helps... -Nate
RE: tailgate reflector P/N just got back from vacation. Thanks for the info, I'll check the truck shops
