so i got a 73 chevy step side with 350 in it and for some reason its idle is very high when in park and neutral im wondering whats wrong and cant figure it out im wondering if the vacum problem im having between my carb and adapter (where fuel is leaking, replaced adapter, but is still leaking) could be my problem or if i have other worries. Have any ideas?

Check for vaccum line leaks. Also, check carb for warping. If you're leaking fuel, Air is getting in. If you don't need the adaptor, get rid of it.

I agree with the other post. I all so check the float to make sure it not flooding. The carb a holley with front rear floats .( Most time the adaptor, plate will not leak fue but can be vaccum leak. Some thing sticking or leaking in in the carb " rebuild time " or new carb if you can not rebuild it )
