pedal set

    the shaft is worn on my pedal set (49)chevy pu --anyone know if and where parts are available to rebuild pedal ass'y.

    hank, are you talking about needing the bushings for the shaft that holds the brake and clutch? If so, chevs of the 40s sells them.

    the shaft that the pedals w/bushing insert rides on is dished out from wear and no lub

    On mine, I just welded them up, and then ground them back round. I figure if they stay greased they should last a long time. Just my 2 cents....Mike

    Did the same to mine, had groove worn on one side of shaft, just put a little weld on then file it to shape then add more weld and file, do it a bit at a time and its easier to get the shaft back to shape, put a lot of weld on and its hard to shape it up without damaging existing shaft. Then fit new bushes to the pedal arms and ream them to fit. Mine fit snug as a bug now with no play.
