    Hello All,

MY truck has a '73 Nova front clip. I just finished rebuilding the front end, but I didn't replace the coil springs.(rookie mistake) While the steering & handling cleaned up quite a bit the ride ain't quite what I was hoping. (still a bit bouncy) I would think these beauties are quite a bit heavier than the Nova. I'm running a 327 with 350 turbo tranny. Anyone have a recommendation for the best compatible coil spring to improve the ride? Will a heavy duty Nova Spring be sufficient? Maybe S-10 springs? A 1/2 ton pick up spring? Which one's will fit the Nova front clip? Any help for a rookie is greatly appreciated.

Bouncy isn't caused by the springs , what you need is some really heavy duty gas charged shocks . not Gabriel's or Pep Boys crap , good ones

You beat me to it nate. Nate is right you didn't put heavy enough shocks under your truck. I know that billstein makes good shocks that should hold up for a long time. Here's the link

    Hope this helps.

Thanks. I just put a set of Monroe Sensatracs all the way around. I was thinking maybe the springs since they're the original springs from the '73 Nova. They might be worn and a bit soft. Atleast they look like they've been thru some h^%$. Any other suggestions?

Well ya know , I worked on an old truck ~ once

Like I said : don't buy cheapo American branded shocks ! . they'll sell you car shocks every time and they're simply not firm enough to handle the weight of an old truck , even when its unloaded .

You're the experts but I still need to know

Thanks Fellas!! I've begun looking for better shocks. I'm still gonna replace the springs while I'm under there this time.

Should new '73 Nova springs be ok or is there a better spring for the application? Any one know?
