Replace, or rebuild, that is the question. i was told by a friend who's been around a while, and has experience with old trucks, that it may just be easier to buy a whole new master cylinder rather than fiddle with rebuilding. he thought that if there's even a small amount of water damage inside, that the new rubber pieces would rub and eventually fail prematurely, even if you hone it. i, myself, being unexperienced, would tend to agree here, but i thought i'd pose the question and see what sort of sage advice might be offered here.

    Go New!

I rebuilt my pitted mc. I did a dang good job, too. (If I may say so?) However. That was only something that I did so I could drive it over to my dad's- -twice. On my rebuild, I'll kiss it once, then throw it far over my sholder as I reach for that dual mc that will take it's place! (See Gater's thread- s-a-f-t-e-y first!) Single cylinders are creepy when you think of one line failure!
    (My 3 cents +)

I just did mine this past week so the posts aren't too many pages removed. I haven't tested it yet cause I am in the process of moving the rear axle back about 2 inches and the truck is up on stands. Also, since it is supposed to rain like pouring pi$$ out of a boot here tomorrow I will put my new wheel cylinders on the front. Then I will wear my 12 year old son's leg out while I get all the air out of the line. Don't forget to bench bleed your MC before you mount it. It will probably tell you how in the instructions but it will save a lot of bleeding after installation.
