    Howdy,

I have a 76 K10 p/u I am restoring and I am wanting to replace the tumbler assembly in the steering column. I have a Haynes book and it is not to detailed with this. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I have an 87 chev silverado and am replcing the tumbler as well. You need to take the steering wheel off via a puller and the the lock plate via a lock plate removal tool. Once inside the column the turnsignal cacel plate might have to be removed. Once that is done I believe there is a small lock lever that needs to be pushed down with a small flat head screwdriver and the tumbler assembly should pop out. I lost my keys in a river once and had to get new ones made up on the spot. This is just what I observed watching the locksmith. Hope this info helps!

    thanks,

I already have it all apart just can't tell by the instructions in the Haynes manual what they are trying to have you do.
