Ok, which is the correct way for mounting the inside rear view mirror on my '54 ? Up in the center headliner area or down on the dash ? Seem to have different opinions Nate ??

I opted for the rearview mirrors that install on the top edge of the door...I welded all the factory holes up and hated to drill holes after it was painted..They are very easy to install and can be removed without tearing up any new metal..oopsss....I see you meant inside....Rusty's was in the top middle of the window..

It's supposed to attach to a sheet metal " T " bracket that attaches to the center window divider but GM often used a divider with a threaded hole in it you can -carefully- screw the mirror post into.....
