Has any one used one? My original pedal rod linkage is pretty trashed. I know that Lokar is a good brand, but pricey. Is there any other brands that I'm not aware of?

    I've seen some no-name Lokar knock-offs on e-Bay. I used the Lokar Eliminator. I liked it a lot !

For a little more money though, you could try this spoon type from Clayton Machine Works.

This is what they look like in my 37.

The Clayton looks nice! Probably too nice for my old truck! I think I will go with the lokar black anodized piece. From what I see your 37 looks nice DVAL.

How about using a good used factory gas pedal set-up?

Good looking pedals you have in your 37 DVAL,kind of like the old tear drop taillights.I have always liked the old tear drop taillights because they look good on almost any classic cars or trucks.

Clayton Machine Works web site is being redone right now otherwise I could have gotten Ya'll a better picture. The throttle pedal is a drilled I-beam that comes with inserts that are carbon fiber or paintable.

He is producing some really nice stuff down there in Razor-back country.

I ordered the black one from Lokar. I had the steel braided detent, throttle cables with bracket already, so I went with that. Can't wait to get it. I'll post some pics when I get it on the truck. Thank all of you for the offers. Jeremy.

For a cheap setup that works well and doesn't look too bad I use ones off of a ford. The advantages include just needing a round hole in the firewall (GM's take a precise square hole), any clamp near the carb end (square hole again for GM), and best of all a self contained return spring which eliminates the need for a seperate return spring and bracket. The gas pedal is very narrow and pivots, a plus when using in 30's cramped for room cars. It certainly isn't a bolt in with the cable and housing needing shortening and the pedal arm recontoured in most cases but, if you can do that type work then you can have a nice setup for about 10 bucks. Lousy pic but it shows cable housing to firewall with two screws and in the very lower left is the end that snaps onto the carb linkage ball and a few coils of the selfcontained return spring are visible (blue color).
