(My apologies to those of you with slow internet links. These are BIG pictures and will take a while to download. Nate: look for your name below for the first picture you should look at.)

Ken and I went to the Classy Chassis Vintage Auto Show yesterday and were disappointed to find that there wasn't one truck in the whole show.

We did have a great time looking at some fabulous cars. I doubt Ken will ever go anywhere with me again, because as usual, I spent most of the time making some association between the car we happensd to be looking at and some prior incident in my all-to-bland life. Ken was a real sport about it though.

First thing that Ken ran across was this 235.

He decided it would be perfect for his '50PU. Of course he'd have to ditch the attached PowerSlide.

The original owner was displaying this factory blown '57 Bird.

    Still had the window sticker.

This little kid was so blown away by all the shine he couldn't stand up anymore. That is a 1928 Hispano Suiza H6C he is sitting in front of.

Last year's Best in Show Award went to this 1911 Mercedes 90 HP Labourdette Skiff, so named because much of the body was builyt using boat building methods. Lots of mahogany and tons of brass rivets.

Early on, Ken's favorite was this '53 Caddy Ghia concept car. That is Ken checking out the insides. If it were me standing like that in this picture we'd need a wide angle lens.

Ken later changed his mind and placed his People Choice vote for a 1932 Aubiurn Phaeton that I forgot to take a picture of.

My favorite (and I usually hate French cars) was this 1938 Peugeot Darlmat Roadster. Incredible Art-Deco detail. Barely different two-tone yellow, lighter on the body that on the fenders.

I took this picture for our friend Nate. I know you connect via a low speed link, but if you decide to open just one of this big pictures, pick this one.

Here is a picture of the dash of the same car.

What about the '32 Caddy 7-passenger sedan?

Did you get a picture of that, or were you just satisfied when the owner let you sit in the back seat? What a car. It had a fold-down jump seat attached to the back of the driver's seat, which the owner demonstrated for us. Way too cool!

It sounds like you guys had a great time out at the show. At the end of the month I'll have some good guys show pics to show off myself. They'll be here in Nashville the last weekend of the month if anyone lives close enough to come, you won't be disappointed.

My favorite out of all those pics is the corvette in the background of the T-Bird shot. Cool cars guys.

    GREAT Pix !

Thanx ! those were some great pix and worth waiting for ! .

In 1972 I almost got run over by a yellow Stutz-bearcat in Pasadena.....

Couple years ago Jim Profitt took me for a wild ride in his 1929 Stutz , it had almost no brakes so we wound up doing some power slides over curbs & etc. to avoid hitting other traffic including a Semi

Any one know who Rita Hayworth is?

Besides me, Nate, Evan and Bill? Other than being one of the most beautiful ladies to ever grace the silver screen, she was also the original owner of that '53 Cadillac Ghia coupe.

Yeah, I know Rita (love old movies). Original title (when it was a short story) of one of my favorite movies was "Rita Hayworth And The Shawshank Redemption". Beautiful lady for sure. Always amazes me when you find out one of those concept cars actually made it to private ownership instead of being crushed. Great looking car, too. I always wonder why more "concept" cars never make it to production.

Just happen to have the August 11, 1941 Life Magazine on the bookcase beside me. Cover is Rita Hayworth sitting on Santa Monica Beach in a white two piece swimsuit eating a hamburger. The picture inside on page 33 is even better. The next page has an article about the sinking of the Bismark.

    Yep - I'm there!

Great! I have to work Friday but I'll be down there Saturday and Sunday. My Dad is coming down from Illinois for it as well. Would love to meet up. I assume you will be bringing your truck down? I want to see it in person. Unfortunately, my truck is out of commission at the moment. I have the fuel tank out being relined but I will have the other half of my garage down there - my 69 GTO! I look forward to meeting you.

Just the frame coming down for now. I have a small garage 20x20 and can't fit all in right at the moment. SWMBO says her car has got to stay in the garage, so the cab will have to wait until I have the frame ready to accept the cab. Plus I've still got a little more sheet metal work on the cab before it comes to tn. I'll pm you with my number so we can get in contact a little easier for the show. You have an AD PLUS a 69 GTO, some guys I tell ya! Can't wait to see it.

    High School Collection Complete

Yep, I call it my high school collection. The Goat I've had since high school and the AD I just got in April but it is exactly like the one my Dad had and I drove when I was sixteen. SWMBO does not get it but I am loving life!
