I have 5 wheels and tires I want to get out of my garage. They are free to anyone who wants them. If anyone lives near the Myrtle Beach, SC area, you are welcome to come and get them. Shipping via UPS or FEDEX might be expensive - will assist with boxing, etc (you pay shipping). Here's what I have.

    5 16" Wheels, stock, 6 x 5.5 lugs - Black, no rust. Wheels have the hub-cap clips.

4 Tires - 650-16LT, Power King, premium super highway - no dry rot -tread is good. They have tubes and are bias ply. They are mounted on the wheels. One tire is 600-16 and is flat - was in the spare tire rack.

4 Beauty rings - smooth, good chrome, no rust.

4 hub caps - chrome, no rust but the red 'Chevrolet' paint is a little faded.

Sorry, I do not know the age of these tires (they were on the truck when I bought it about 4 months ago). If anyone wants any of the items above, please contact me offline.

If no one else takes them , I'll happily pay the freight on the beauty rings , I'd take the wheels too but they're too far away .

Nate, I received your check. Assume you received the parts. Last I checked with the tracking number and UPS, they advise the parts were delivered on 6/28 at 2:05 PM. Let me know if you have the parts.

Hey Old blue (Chuck), I did get your e-mail but after 3 trys, I could not get a message back to you at the e-mail address you sent.

I do still have 5 rims available, all with tires mounted (one is flat as it was the spare). It might be expensive to ship the rims (assume you would want me to remove the tires and tubes). I suppose I could ship them...would have to purchase boxes (maybe put 2 rims per box). My last shipment with UPS, they charged about $1.50 per pound. Not sure what a rim weighs (maybe 10 pounds) - that might make it about $60 to ship 4. If you are close to Myrtle Beach, you are welcome to come by and pick these up. Let me know.

    RE: FREE 16

Wanted to list a couple more items that are free for the asking. I have a tailgate that I replaced. I has no rust but has several dents, scrapes, etc. I thought it would be cheaper to replace than fix it but I'm not a body repairman. It has the CHEVROLET stamped on the outside and has the white decals attached. I have reused the chains. I think I kept the old hinges. I also have a bed front panel with the sill attached. This panel has some rust holes on the bottom where the sill attaches (looked too bad to me to get repaired). I can take pictures of these if anyone is interested.

I also have a 'stock' black outside mirror (round)- driver's side. No rust but needs to be painted (glass is ok). I have the stock 'oil type' carb top - black but needs to be repainted.

I missed the wheels, but would really like to have the oil bath air filter, and would accept the mirror if you can pack these together.

    16 Inch Wheels

Hey Chuck (Old Blue), sorry I have been offline for awhile. I did not receive a private email from you. And, I have tried to send a message to your email address and it just says 'Being Delayed' (not sure where that message is coming from). Would you try again to send me a private message? If you agree to reimburse me for the shipping charges and the boxes, I will take the tires off the wheels and ship them to you. I think the shipping and boxes might come to around $100 or so.

    Thanks
    Penniwinkle

Hey Nate, on those beauty rings: I have the original wheels on my 1950 Panel with dog dish caps. Every place I have checked, the beauty rings don't quite fit. Close but just enought to make them fly off. I notice that classic parts sells clips. The old wheels have that slight bevel that makes for a difficult fit. What rings will fit these and do you need the clips to do so. Thanks, Brian

Brian, not to steal Nate's thunder, but...

You've got to be careful with repop beauty rings. If they are close, "but no cigar", bend out the ears a little before you put them on so that they will dig into to the wheel a little. Be advised that they will take the paint off of a freshly painted wheel, so when you put them on, leave them on. Nothing beats the real thing if you can find them!

    What Ken Said

The re-pop beauty rings are not correctly made so they fly off . bend the sharp tabs sharply outwards and they'll stay on .

The problem with beauty rings is this : they ruin the fresh paint or powder coating of your wheels ~ no way 'round that . I just polished up the old stained & dented originals and pressed 'em in (if they slip right in , they're going to fly off again) and so what about the powder coating ? I don't plan to remove the rings for years & years.....
