automatic colum

    I have a 64 stepside with 3-speed standard trans.I'm wanting to change to a automatic trans.My question is will a newer model like a 67-72 model auto colum work?If so does it require any modifications ?thanks for any help.oldblue64

    With the exception of the column harness, it's a bolt-in. You can pick up a new male/female column harness connector from Ididit, Flaming River, etc etc..

    Match up color-for-color and you are done.

    auto colum

    thanks Val for the info.Does the auto trans require a different cross member than the standard?thanks again for your help

    Yes you will need an auto cross member.

    AND,,, you will need to remove the old standard trans bell-housing crossmember.
