Well, I was poking around on the forum this evening and realized I hadn't posted for awhile. Not that much has changed in the past few months, but figured in progress pics are always fun.

Ordering up an IFS kit this week. That's the next piece of my puzzle, then install the rear, brakes, the floorboards, then...oh who the heck knows.

Engine and Trans are in. If anyone ever wondered what a LSx engine looked like in a 52 now is your chance to see.

I also attached a pic of my 454 in my 69 Caprice. That's what I've been working on (and drag racing) lately. Sure is alot of fun. Hope this truck will make a few passes down the 'strip when I'm done with it as well. Tho it won't be as fun as the Caprice since it'll have an automatic trans in it...

Also, a pic of my fathers' $100 barn find. A nice 50 4-door. Had to look up Nate's advice for starting these engines. Think this one has sat since '79. I don't remember the last time I saw a clean, mostly together old Chevy like this. Usually they've just had everything ripped apart by the time I find them.

I love the 50! (and the space it's in) As far as your truck goes? May the force be with you! Good luck with that.

    Sweet!

Andy, ask your dad if he's had any problems sleeping lately. My conscience would bother me too much to sleep if I had committed Grand Theft Auto!;)

    Thanks for sharing the pics!

    One month later...

I blew apart my front springs today. The nut on top of the springs was so rusted to death, I didn't even know it was one. But, they're off and apart. I wish I had the $$ for Eaton springs now. The thought of prettying these up just to have them give up the ghost in a few years... It makes more sense to just put in new ones now. HOWEVER! The thought of me doing something that makes sense... hmmmmmm...

Kens 50, here are a couple, when we couldn't find a 37 chevy decklid my sheet metal guy told me to get him any similar decklid so I found one for a 39 Buick coupe. You can see it was rusted at the bottom and under the emblem that said "Buick Eight", was too short, the lower contour, and hinges were also wrong. The second pic is after he redid the body opening, replaced the rusted areas, recontoured the curvature, and fitted so gap is exactly a paint stick thickness. I don't want to post too many car pics on this truck site so I put them on http://s32.photobucket.com/albums/d41/coilover/ If you scroll down the page and shift it to the left you can click "view all" and wade through some of my junk. The 37 chev business coupe is the first set of pics.

    Evan, you are the man!

Awesome pics, man! I don't think that any of us would ever get tired of seeing too many "car pics"!! I would love to come visit you and your shop! Give me a date in Sept that is good for you cause we need to talk! How close are you to Baby Doe's, because it will be my treat!

You guys know whaet I've been working on. Can you tell I'm a little excited. The frame is on hold this weekend though. The front suspension was supposed to have been here today, but it all got pushed back to monday. Oh well, you cant win them all can you. Plus I've got some more honey do's to get out of the way this weekend. We're tackling painting the interior of the house this weekend, not all of it but quiet a bit. So maybe next week I'll have more pics to post on here.

Take it from one who knows...

The more time you plan to spend with your "significant other"~ the more time you'll have to spend with your wife doing honey-do's....

This summer was supposed to be my truck, and fishing.

The boat's hit the water ONCE, I've worked on the truck from 7ish AM to 9ish AM. (THIS LAST WEEK!!!!) I've put in a complete fireplace for my in-laws and nearly finished our deck in the attic. (Only two stories up to this deck... never mind I'm afraid of heights..)

Oh well- I could die tomorrow, but what matters is, what did I do for others?

That's why, I guess, I'm drawn to this site.

It's what we try to do for others. Thank you all for your help!

    Here's to ya! =^)

Neil, this 37 must have been to the UK; here are a few of the "Before" and one of the finished.

Well Mike, if it makes you feel any better it's not a LS1. It's actually a 5.3L out of a 2002 Chevy Truck. And chances are you'll have yours finished well before me, especially if you are able to start it up! I have lots of things to figure out. Do you have any pics of your truck? I'm gonna have lots of questions for you!

Andy - I'll answer any questions you might have the best I know how. I'm sort of figuring this stuff out as I go. You can find some pictures of my project at http://fenske.net/53chevy It's been 3 1/2 years so far of SLOW but steady progress.

I see that you live in Seattle. Any chance that you are a UW fan? I work with a guy who is a huge fan.

    Impressive website, Mike

Excellent website! Very impressive body work! Round Rock, Tx, huh? I love that place. Sure is growing fast though:( Enjoyed watching the Express at the Dell Diamond a couple of years ago.

Yep, I do live in Seattle, but since I wasn't born and raised here I just don't get the UW thing. I'm still an Iowa State fan (despite constant heckling..of which I'm sure you'll join in on).

Your truck is much much further along than mine. Obviously I have the engine and transmission in place, but beyond that not much has been done. I like several of the things on your website. I just might have to steal a few ideas. :D

Now if I just had the truck here in Seattle more things might get done...

    Working On....

My Ural Moto , my Kawasaki W-650 Moto , my Holda CT90 , the old Mercedes Diesels , the usual junk

The truck is as usual , running fine , leaks oil and wheezes on down the road as needed :p

When I look at those pix of the rusty '37 , I am humbled by your great talent .
