Not sure I can express this question clearly. Is the rubber at the end of the window regulator supposed to be fully within the channel, or straddling part in and part out. Does that make sense to anyone? Having put the doors back together, we are having problems with the windows going all the way up/down. Thanks in advance! Eric
An update If you read this question, I just wanted to explain further. The end of the regulator has a rolling section that goes in the channel. That rolling section seems to have two rubber pieces, and we have put one inside the channel track and one outside. Yet when we role up, and it hits about half way up, with the roller about half way along the channel, it basically binds up and becomes extremely hard to advance. Wondering if both rubber sections actually go in the channel, or whether you have any other advice. Feeling stuck, and not wanting to break my regulator. Help!! Eric
I wish I could help you, Eric~ I haven't made it that far yet... This is a kit you got from...? I would have thought that there would be directions to follow. (At least I'd HOPE they'd include directions!) One of the first things I did when I got my truck was buy a shop manual for it. VERY helpful! Great photos of how it should look, too. Seems like someone has just recently done this work and should chime in here soon. Don't give up!
Not sure I understand here , is this a vent wing equipped truck or the one piece wondow early typ as they're different . I'm Foggy this morning but IIRC there's only the metal disc on the lift arms and they both go inside the channel , must be properly aligned and the disc is riveted on and is supposed to rotate but it usually rusted stuck , the sliding is why it's egg shaped , it shouldn't be , loosen up the good penetrant and maybe a bit of heat , lube well before assembly .
