Robert, I'm pretty sure that Thunder54 has an AC on his 235. I'm not sure that a 216 has enough intestinal fortitude to run an AC unit and climb a hill at the same time:rolleyes:

I have a vintage air on my 54 235. works well. the control knobs don't follow exactly what it says on the knobs, but they do follow the instructions. Works will in the FL heat. Added an alternator to handle the extra load. also, the fan was changed. tried to use the 4 blade HD blade, that didn't work. went to a blower.
    LOL

I'd say the 216 will be overworked with an AC compressor .

if you decide to do this , delete the stock fan and add an electric pusher typ fan else the engiune will run too hot and the AC won't be very efficient .

Well now , that's an engine of a different color (and build) isn't it now ? . :D

Your Jimmy engine should do just fine with the same cavets mentioned .

I suggest you contact the AC vendors and talk to their tech folks about whether the 216 will pul a compressor. The folks at Old Air played it straight with me several years back.

My 235 set up works fine.
