I was woundering if the boxes on 1978 had the flush mount gas cap or had the gas door on the 1978 box or did they come both ways there a early and late change made in 1978. ** 1978 was the first year i think for the gas door on the box did a little looking around.I have seen a few with the older style, but not sure if they changed there box.** A freind had a 1978 box on his truck you could see the place the door went, but his door was broken. Not sure what month then started to make it ** To all 1978 that still have the factoy box the truck came with?
Gas door question Hey Pontiac1976, My 1978 3/4 ton had duel tanks both of which are flush mounts. I have a friend who works as the parts manager for one of the local chevy dealerships here in Phoenix, Arizona. I will try to get with him this week to look through the computer to get you an answer.
