The Best Way To Do It Is To Find A Donner Truck With Like A 350sb And Just Transfer Over The Engine, Wire Harness, Fuel Line And Fuel Tank. If You Dont Have A Donner, Youll Just Need To Replace The Above Parts But Try To Get Them Out Of Simialar Year Vehicles.

I just did a gas to diesel swap earlier this year. Having a donor vehicle definately makes it easier, and if you have the correct wiring harnesses (in the engine bay and under the dash) then the only wires you have to deal with is the fuel signal wire and your radio.

There are also differences between gas and diesel transmissions. If you want to use your transmission you will need a gas torque convertor and governor.

You also have to decide whether you want to keep your hydroboost setup, where the ps pump may be different; or convert to a vaccuum boost setup, in which case you need a new brake pedal (hydro pedals are slightly different where the booster attaches).

real easy to switch over...especially if your donor motor is going from a manual to a manual like my conversion i used the diesel motor mounts the trans bolted right up. i used a 3 line mechanical fuel pump.(don't even have to cut the lines) Take the keyed power source from the glow plug controller and plug into the distributor. cut the glow plug wires out. and kept the hydroboost brakes they are far superior.. even the alternator needs no modifications. keep the dual battery too...why not...

The easist way is to use an oldsmoblie 350 or 455 as they will bolt to your trans. The rear end gear ratio w/ diesel is very high. Suggest a change to a lower ratio as truck will be slugish w/ gas motor
