Guys and girls, I must tell you what's going to happen to me in the next 2 weeks! First of all, I will miss work for 11 working days. Friday morning, I have to make a 10 hour drive just to meet 2 other couples in the Arkansas Ozarks to trout fish for 2 days. (damn the luck). I hate having to go there because I can't count all of the stars, or figure out all of the varments making those weird sounds. I'll probably get ingestion when we have our shore breakfast around 8:30am on Sat and Sun. I'll probably not understand why it drops into the high 50's at night and why that fire on the banks of the White River smells so good. But wait, it gets worse. When I leave there on Monday, I have to drive another 6 hours to my mother's house, only to be greeted with a big hug, some fresh pulled pork BBQ, slaw, and baked beans. After that, I have to go another 10 miles to visit with my guys and see what they've done on my truck! But wait, it gets worse! Then I have to get back to mom's, and start stripping and media blasting the bed sides of the truck, and doing all of the things I needed to get done back in May when I was there. I'll have to probably buy more sand for the blaster, etc, etc. You feeling sorry for me yet? Then, that Sunday, I've got to take SWMBO to the Nashville airport so she can go back to work (finally a good thing to this story. Someone has to pay for my new parts). Meet up with Kevin's 48 and maybe Jeff. Then back to solid labor on Monday next. Oh yeah, forgot that I have to bush-hog about 5 acres for mom. Don't you guys wish you could be me for 2 weeks? I'm tickled to death about this and will probably be absent from the internet as mom still has rotary service on her phone! (joking, she got touch tone last year!)
I'm pretty excited about this trip for you. The only thing to me that sounds bad is Sarah going home. You'll miss her. Oh yeah tell her mom got her job that she was telling her about. See ya in a week and a couple days.
Tough Break Ken ..At least you're man enough to handle all that dissapointment... Eating all that BBQ and fishing , working on old truck , visiting Moms ~ wow how can you stand it? I still have a couple rotarty dial 'phones in service in my house.... Plus some rotary Princess and Trimline 'phones stashed away in a cabinet
Morning all, Kens 50 PU reporting in from beautiful downtown Smyrna at Kevin's house. Checked out his awesome looking frame. Works pretty cool. Back to me though. My engine in on the frame now. Interior is painted (looks awesome). Been working on the bed sides all week. What a pain in the butt! All for now. Talk to you in a week!!!
