I have a '53 3800 that I would like to convert to front and possibly rear disc brakes. Does anyone have any ideas? I can't seem to find a kit that will work for me. I could swap out my rear axle, but that doesn't leave me many options for the front.

    Thanks in advance!

You may want to try http://www.americanclasics.com
    Or http://www.oldchevytrucks.com
each of these have tons of conversion kits for every year

I recently installed the 47-59 5 lug front disc conversion on my 51. I have to say it all went on very nicely. It doesn't use the stock hubs as the new rotors come with the new hubs intact.I bought mine through C/D. I don't have any problems with tie rod or caliper clearance as of yet. Will see what happens when I get to new rims.
