I have a 51, 216 and 3 on the tree. I want to change rear end and go to an open driveline. Can I use the original trans? The existing rear end needs work and it feels like the torque tube is vibrating. Not hotrodding just want dependable and highway cruising speed. Thanks

You need to get a later model tranny to convert to open shaft. I don't know of any conversion kit for the stock unit. It will be much cheaper to find a tranny (even if you have to rebuild it).
