I got my first truck a few months past,48 Chevrolet Thiftmaster 1ton.I'll try to post a picture of it.Its all stock and in good condition but it has a cracked block, its just the outside water jacket and it is not getting water in the oil,so for now i'm just going to put some jb weld on it untill I can pull the motor and have it fixed right.Well just thought I would pop in and say hi.

    Welcome Noob !

Good deal , I assume the leak is behind the generator ? that happens a lot and is why you ust use coolant , not plain water .

There's LOADS of perfectly good , cheap 216's & 235's out there if you but look ~ go to any Task Force ('55 ~ 59) forum and look for the guys making Hot Rods , they consider the InLine 6 cylinder engine to be a boat anchor and even they guys who were asking $500.00 three years ago , will still have the engine under a tarp and usually let it go for $150.00 Max. , this is fan to clutch I'm talkng about , pay no more for a good used engine .

Well the leak is from the oil pressure hole all the way to the coolant drain. And looking at all the mud that came out with the antifreez I would say they ran river water in it:D,But thats ok I think the JB weld will work for now.
Oh one other thing ,were can I get the kingpins rebushed for the frontend, mine are badly needing a rebuild.
