Well, this isn't the best way to go about choosing a color for my truck, but since it's winter and very few shows around now it'll have to do.

Anyone have pics of trucks with the Commercial Red color or the Cherry color that was from the 50s? Pretty sure few if any came that way originally but I'd like to keep my truck with a period color. My other thought was Garnet Red from the 60s...Thanks in advance!

Paint it red, it's yor truck, and you will find there is a really decent wine lable to match it.

My first thought was to paint it white actually...everything else I own is white, why not this one too?! But figured it was time for a change. Not too worried about what the others will think. I've got my plan and I think it will be a nice driver when all is said and done.

I really need to get a scanner...lots of progress since the last time I posted. IFS installed, rust all repaired, 9" installed in the rear...:D

I like the Bright Red, but was hoping to find one that well...wasn't quite so bright. Kinda want a little bit of a subdued (sp?) look to it...not to in-your-face. Even considered one of those hot rod flatz reds...but feel the suede look is a bit overdone these days.

    White is cool!

If you're trying to keep with original colors, you're in luck. Although rare, white was an original color. It was accented with emerald green from 47-52 and then accented with juniper green from 53-54. You gotta do what you wanna do. I think white would look awesome!

White was my second choice after red. I reckon I first liked white after I saw that photo of Nate's truck in the desert. White with a red stripe around the cab is a real eye catcher. Then you can go with red wheels and white walls?

I really like Swift's Red , choosing the right red can be a real PIA and then if a kid mixes it for you in the paint shop , it'll prolly just be resale red again anyways

I like the white , it hides the dust and dents , ripples , poorly finished bodywork and so on , I never really thought anyone'd think my old beater work truck to be an" Eye Catcher " tho' :p

As mentioned , YOU paid for it so paint it what you like .

Do try to not follow the crowd if possible .
