Help need a 4 barrel carb newer in excellent shape good one bolt on and go!!!!My new 283 fires up but carb. doesnt get gas inside carb. Willing to trade my (shortwheel base bed) for a new one or newer one.
283 man........is there a NAPA store near you? Quadrajets..........even though people slam them........are easy to rebuild and when running good are great carbs........unlike a Holley that needs a new power valve after it backfires ONCE. They are great on fuel due to the small primaries and give a great punch once the spreadbore opens up. So if you can get a carb kit.........may want to try it. Good luck man. The only problem you may run into is if you are trying to run a Qjet from a 472 Caddy on a 283......overcarbed.
yea your right quad.jets are good to I just need to get another 4 barrel -I stripped out the filter line hole!!! so I still need carb. even a rocester will do ,i will trade my 66 shortwheel base bed for new carb.
Hey Now, Now Each To There Own With Opinions Of Course, But Ive Used Rocherster, Edelbrock And Holley. I Find That Most People Use Rocherster And Edelbrock Carbs Because There So Easy To Set Up. I Preffer The Holley. Even Thou It Takes Longer And Is More Complicated To Set Up, They Run 10 Times Better When Tuned Correctly. If You Spend The Time Youll Notice An Amazing Difference Between Holley And The Others. Also, Holleys Tech Line And Online Help (they Email Back And Forth With You) Is The Best You Can Get. They Actuall Ran Me Throu Tuning A Dominator While On The Phone With Them. Cant Beat That!!
