    Hello forum
I'm in the process or restoring a 49 chevy 3600 with a factory flat bed. Which has been in the family sense it was bought new in 1949. I'm having trouble finding out what color the metal frame and wooden rails and wooden side boards. They are currently flat black, but I don't think this was there origanal color, but my father claims that as far as he can remenber they were always black, and the few pictures that I have managed to find in the family photo albums they are black. But the live stock rack that came with the truck and I still have are green with white pin stripes. The cab is dark green. So can any one tell tell me what the proper color should be?

    Thanks
    Jerry

Although GM did make flatbeds , they were few and far between as local dealers could have them made to spec. much cheaper .

99 % of all flat beds were semi gloss black , I recall some being gloss back and even a few red ones .

Ask over on The StoveBolt Page , in the Big Bolt section .
