    Only a couple...

As far as I can see, it is only missing the small clip that the return spring attaches to and the return spring itself. Those parts can be had rather cheaply as repros or can be mocked up easily. I like Jimbo. He has always been very fair with me and describes his parts well and ships super fast. All around good guy.

    Linkage Parts

yes , the teardrop shaped clip for the spring and the spring plus the 'C' shaped rod that connects this linkage to the starter proper .

Might be good if someone were to post up a nice pic of same , maybe on an engine out of the truck or a chassis sans cab etc.. so the folks who don't have these parts , can see what they're looking for as this is usually still on that completely ruined , rusted away old farm truck or chassis sitting way over there....

    Cheap & FREE 235's :

    O.K. , there's loads of forums for the '55 ~ '59 trucks , known as " Task Force " by GM , our '47 ~ '54 are called " Advance Design " .

Anyway , the T.F. trucks are currently all the rage for Hot Rodding so if you go to the T.F. forums on this site :
https://talk.classicparts.com/forumdisplay.php?f=8 and begin reading the older posts , you'll find where guys mention having taken out the original 6 Banger engine and these , they are the VERY BEST 6 cylinder engines Chevy ever built , right from the jump so ask ALL of them , if they still have the old engine for sale .

Then go to the classified section of this site and begin reading the older for sale ads for engines , go back as far as you can and contact ALL of them as 90 % of the 6 Bangers engines offered (esp. if over $200.00) will still be sitting there and the guys wife is screaming to ' get that junk out of here ! '
so they tend to be very flexible on price , as it's been sitting there for 5 years or so .

There's a nice clean , good running 235 within 100 miles of you , I promise this ~ you just need to beat the bushes and be creative about finding it .

Unless it's obviously been rebuilt it's NOT worth over $250.00 and the rebuilt someone else poured $1,800.00 into , is still only worth $500.00 *IF* there's a receipt .

Sad but true and in your favor .

    I hope this helped .

    Look what I found today

Andy - I bought the complete floor switch set up today from Gary a "local" enthusist missing just the (red) spring. Here is what the setup looks like installed on another truck he had in his yard. He has a bunch of take-off parts, sheet metal and engines, and I didn't leave with just the floor switch! Great find and individual. Larry

Nice find, Larry. BTW, several vendors sell the starter pedal spring, if you need one. Obsolete Chevrolet Parts www.obschevy.com sells them for 3 bucks +/-

    GREAT ! Now :

Look at the picture closely ~ see the two bolts holding the linkage to the bell housing on the passenger side ? Use one of them to attach your battery's GROUND cable and forget about hard starting ! this is _very_ important ~ the battery*MUST* be grounded directly to the tranny or engine , NOT the frame ! .

If your truck is still 6 volts , you'll be needing # 1 gauge battery cables too , buy new ones after measuring carefully and junk any cables with ' ad a clamp ' repair ends , RIGHT NOW .

    Sorry ,

.I can't help it ~ this has been a rough year and things I hold dear like driving 'round in my old truck , and riding my Moto to the coffee place this morning @ 05:00 in 36 degree weather , are important to me , as is knowng my son is coming home Christmas morning to spend the day with me , he might come by to-day too , needs some help moving things into his first house... (snif)

Then they played " Cat's In the Cradle " on the radio last night ~ if I've gotta get all weepy , you guys have to suffer along with me too :p

    Thanks Larry!

    [WARNING!!!]

Washington is a stretch, but look out Texas! There's no doubt in my mind I'm heading down THAT way within the next two years! Too many of you live down there, and it's straight South! Even I can handle those directions! :p
