I'd heard that an Optima battery could be mounted in any position, including upside down, but had never tried it. We have a Model A that there is just no more room left underneath so one of the guys suggested the Optima. It actually is only a half inch less tall on it's side but doesn't have to have clearance for the posts and cables. There aren't any cables on the posts in this pic and EVERYTHING is red but you can see the two posts sticking out sideways. Could be a problem solver on future projects.
I thought long and hard about using an Optima Battery. AFter talking with lots of folks I found out that the Optima is not a battery you want to have set around in your vehicle. If you are not going to drive the vehicle regularly, it's not recommended. Just for your info. I lived in Tejas for a few yrs, loved it!! the natives, all be they about 20 % of the people, are wonderful. "I'm from Texas, what country are you from?"
