transmission blues

Hi everybody, my 64 chevy step side has a 350 engine,and the 3-speed manual trans.My problem is the trans pops out of 3rd gear while going down the road.It just started doing this.I've tried adjusting the linkage,but it doesn't help.Iwas told the sincrolnizer is out.Do you think this is what it wrong ?Anybody have any ideas ?Thanks for any help.

 

You could allways change over to a automatic transmission 700r,350turbo,2peed powerglide or even a 4 speed grany low lots of different ones out there...

 

What you described is typical of a syncro going out. Only a trans shop will know for sure.

It would be best to let a trans. shop look at it first as DVal.and Joe231 are saying just to know for sure whats going on.

 

I had the same problems with my 3 spd also ended up being a bad syncro between 2nd and 3rd. i also did have a tranny shop fix it cost my less than $100 they had all the tools. KIlroy was here
