Im pretty good with cars and i want to get my son involved with it. but i dont know how to convert the motor mounts to fit this motor. i want to do this the right way. what about trans mounts? drive shafts? rear end gears? any info would help thanks

Here is everything you need on the motor mounts.

The radiator that's in there "should" be OK if it's in good condition AND you use a fan shroud, (sold by our hosts), and 180 degree thermostat.

Trans and throttle linkage can be had from Lokar.

If you have a manual trans in there now the bell housing crossmember will need to come out, but it's pretty easy with an angle grinder on the rivits.

You will also need to relocate the e-brake brace on the frame near the transmission. The neatest way I've seen that done is to cut out the center section of the brace, ( the part that holds the fulcrum/lever thingie ) and weld it to the new trans crossmember.

You should be able to use the same driveshaft. A TH350 is the same length as a 3spd+bellhousing. Rear gears would be ok if you think of switching to a 700R4 overdrive. With gas prices going up, seriously think about an automatic OD. If you insist on a non overdrive automatic.....go with a TH400, MUCH stronger transmission.

Unless you are running big horsepower a TH350 will do just fine. It takes more power to turn the TH400.
