I am attempting to join a 1974 Nova front suspension system to a 1954 Chevrolet frame. I have read this procedure in the Classic Truck Magazine on 1947-1955 trucks. I am looking for any information or diagrams on the procedure or possibly a name of an individual who has had this procedure for information. Thank you. David Binnarr usaauto@aol.com
save some headache and labor charges and check out Fatmanfab.com for a frontend. I put mine in in a weekend with no prior experience. I have also installed a coilover frontend in a 50, and it was even easier than the standard with air ride. With a clip, you are dealing with a worn assembly, you have to re create mounting points for the radiator support and bumper. the axle width is a little wider than ours. Spend $2200 on a fat man kit, get all new parts, put it in in no time with basic welding skills, put your truck back together and drive. If you have any questions, they have great customer service and will take the time to answer any questions you come up with. Tell 'em Russ with the green long bed sent you. I know several people with clips, and if it is not done exactly right, it drives like a wet sack o a$$. Just my opinion, but you will spend more $ on labor and replacing parts to rebuild the clip. Good luck.
