Hey y'all, I've read in a couple of different places that Chevy kept the same style bed from the change in '54 up into the '80s. Somewhere along the line there must have been some changes, but would the bed on a Task Force truck be the same as the '54? Thanks, Josh
Good question. Can't wait for the replies to this one. I know the tailgate is the same for some years after, because I have seen it on later model trucks, but I don't know about the bedsides, bed front, floor, etc. Also don't know what year it went up to. Andy
The 54-55 1st have embosed bed panels that are different from the 55 2nd and on. Like Andy said, the tailgate front bed panel are the same. Chris
All the photos and literature I've seen - including the various parts catalogs -show that from 54 to way beyond task force they all have the same style bed. Differences AD to TF are: you could only get the short bed in 54 but both long and short in 55.2 and on, the tailgate embossing varied over the years, and the hole pattern for the very different fenders.
