Tires on 58' GMC

    I am building a 58' GMC and I am just wondering if anybody knows how wide of a tire i can run without having to tub out my box and all that. thanks in advance.

    Don't know if you'd want to go this way, but there are glass rear fenders available that at 3" wider than stock.

    Well ,
    step side 8" is about the max but fleetside is a little bigger almost a 10".:D

    ouch, only about 8 inches on a step side!! I'm going to be putting about 340-370 horses to the ground (about 400-450 at the flywheel) ... so i'm guessing that i'm probably going to need about a 10in. tire right? I'm not going to be racing this truck but I don't want to have to worry about burning my tires off every time I take off from a stop light.

    Ive seen fleetside inner houses in the step side floor that turns out pretty cool. Might as well make room for some meats.
