Ive seen a 56 in my town with a vent window installed and it did
appear to have the stock rubber moulding around it!
Just wondering have you installed the smaller rubber piece that
you have to put into the center of the stock moulding?
If you have, and are still having a problem you might think about
taking it to a local glass shop,I checked with a local glass shop
in my town and they wanted $30.00 to install my big back window glass,(I supply the glass and new rubber gasket)and with a smaller back window they should not charge you that much to help you out,I would
    think anyway!
    Good luck!

The smaller piece of rubber that is being talked about is called a lock bead. It should have been part of the kit you got with the window.

The lock bead fits in the 1/4 inch wide groove in the middle of the larger gasket. It also requires a special tool (lock bead tool) to install it. The window will never stay in place without this lock bead.
