After putting in new Oak flooring in my 1958 I'm thinking I should have sealed it!! What is the best second option as I really don't want to take it all back apart!!
    Thanks,
    Ron

i dont think there is a second best option.any wood that does not get sealed will swell and worp,or posibly crack.even if alls your doing is washing it.sealing also keeps the natural oils in,hence no drying out to much.witch causes shrinking, cracking, splitting, warping,et. it should have 3 to 5 thin coats of exterior poly uerithane,or marine grade urithane.i just put mine in my 66,and used marine grade urithane.y screw up all the time and money you put into it thus far ?thats my 2 cents.
