As tech here at Chevy Duty I should know where to get this but this truck has a PTO hydralic flat bed on it, I don't know where to get the seals, does anyone have an idea on where to get those seals and also brake parts, shoes really, thanks I know you guys will help. Jesse Hazell Chevy Duty Tech.
Can't help you with the seals, but I just keyed brake job info for '57 GMC 250 into NAPAonline and got back all kinds of good stuff. Try this URL http://www.napaonline.com/masterpages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=430&CatId=48&JobTypeCategory=Brake+Job+-+Complete It returned 23 different NAPA parts including brake shoes, wheel bearings, master cylinders, etc.
thanks, I did find some parts i needed, do you guys think that I can probly get the PTO seals somewhere like tractor supply inc.? Jesse Hazell Chevy Duty Tech.
Pull the seals, measure the OD of the shaft and the ID of the hole the seal mounts in and head to a real bearing supply house.
Jesse: I don't know if GM part numbers will do you any good, but I just found that my GMC Master Parts Book has a parts breakdown for "Power Take-Off Gear Box". You didn't say which seals you needed, so here are all the numbers for any seal on any GMC model 3xx or lower. Part # Description 2278189 Seal - Oil, Power Take Off Bearing Cap Models 300-F450 # 1625 Input and output bearing 3659559 Seal - Oil, Power Take Off Shift Rod Models 300-F450 Shifter Shaft I don't know what that #1625 is, but it may be some seal maker's standard number.
try a hydraulic repair shop or bearing supply co. they handle all kinds of bearings, drives, and seals along with tons of other stuf.
If your one ton is like mine you have 12" drums up front and 14" in the back. The fronts are no problem but the rears you may have to have them relined. The PTO I have on my truck is a Dana. Chris
