G'Day Members I'm writting this from Australia The land of the Kangaroo but unfortunatly not too many early chev pick ups. Can anyone help me with the 'chevrolet'lettering they used in the early pick ups, It was stamped into the tail gate and embosed in the dash panel and I think used as badges on the hood, the Letter "o" was unusual in the way it was stylised with the hole being off centre, if ya know what I mean? My brother has had the good fortune to find a truck and is making his own step side body as none were ever available in australia, I run a sign business and am going to cut the letters out, glue them to the tail gate and the spray paint it. It should look orignal, so if you have something which you can scan eg.catologue or wokshop manual or old advertisment or even a badge or if you know of a web site that may have it please forward it on to me I can then copy it and cut it out.....i'd be most greatful robacme@hotmail.com
[updated:LAST EDITED ON Jul-22-02 AT 03:32 PM (CST)]G'Day robacme, What year and size truck do you have? I think the tailgate "Chevrolet" on 47nd-55st was not painted on original trucks. The entire tailgate was painted body color. The dashboard "Chevrolet" was painted white (I think). To my knowledge, decals are not available for the dash (I will be painting the dash "Chevrolet" on my '54 by hand). Tim
Thanks for your reply Tim, It's a 1948 1/2 ton pickup, Any clues where I can can get a copy of the logo preferably in black and white print cheers Bob
