Good morning all yesterday I took the lower and upper control arms off the frame for reconditioning and paint. I have to sand blast . So heres my question,How do i get the pivot shafts out it looks like a big nut on each end. But i cant get them to even budge i can turn the pivot from side to side. but still wont come out. any ideas???? KILROY WAS HERE!!!!!!!
It is much easier to take off when it's on the truck. Try putting one side in a vice and use a large wrench to turn it. If that dosen't work try PB Blaster or heat it up with a propane tourch.
PB ? YES Heat ? YES PB AND Heat ? NO !! You will recreate the Eternal Flame at Arlington.... One or the other... Val
SAFTY FIRST and foremost over everthing think that as the first opion before working on anything may safe your life or someone else.
ISNT IT FUNNY HOW WHEN WE WORK ON HOT RODS, IN THE SHOP WE USUALLY TRY TO PUT SAFTEY FIRST, AND WHEN WE TAKE OUR HOT RODS OUT ON THE STREET OR TRACK, SAFTEY IS THE LAST THING WERE THINKING OF WHEN WERE FLINGING THEM AROUND IN CIRCLES, LIGHTING UP THE TIRES, AND TRYING TO SEE HOW FAST WE CAN GO BEFORE BLOWING THE ENGINE OR LOOSING CONTROL. I GUESS ITS IN OUR HUMAN DESTRUCTIVE NATURE TO DESTROY WHAT WEVE BUILT, AT LEAST TAKE IT TO ITS FULLEST POTENTIAL, BUT....I GUESS THATS HALF OF THE REASON WE BUILD THEM. WHAT IRANNY
yea I have seen PB go up in flames as a firefighter i was impressed. i beleive in keeping my eyebrows So safety first always
