O.K. , for when you win the lottery I guess : http://www.dynacornclassicbodies.com/gm_models.html Scroll to bottom of the page and have your drooling bib at hand .
For most people who hire out the work, it is easy to sink 9gs in a body ater buying patch panels and pay the labor to install them, especially when some of the trucks I've seen going for big money still need to be stripped down and redone anyway. The 50 I built was one of them, it looked good ntil we got in and started working on it. I'd love to build a completely new truck with all these parts now available.
Guess I'm Lucky Then As my floor is still O.K. ~ the cab has rust (of course) but it appears structually sound . I hope they're not so exectly duplicate as to have the poor jig work the originals did.....
Ridiculous? I think you were right the first time Nate...for when you win the lottery. You can buy a lot of bodywork for 9K. These things aren't that rare. And from what I've seen of most reproduction stuff, making things fit sometimes is a bigger chore than it is worth. My 2 cents, Bob
I'll see your 2 cents and raise you 2 and a half cent! Now if they made the front fenders and hood to go with it, I might be impressed. My guess is that fender and hood placement would be fun (He said very sarcastically)
Another Thought : Is : *if* they don't use tissue paper thin metal , _and_ they faithfully copy all the pieces , they can and SHOULD , sell cab floors and patch panels , after all they're allready stamping them out.....
I have seen some of their camaro parts, and they look very good. I would imagine that they did their homework.
These cabs have actually been out there for about a year. I've also seen some of their other car bodies, and they do look good. Nine grand is a lot of money for just a cab, but wouldn't it be sweet once you finished it up?
At $9,000 I wonder how many they will sell? I pieced my current project truck body parts (almost rust free) from various sources over several years for way way less than their price for the body. Of course if you have big bucks and are in a hurry.....
