    anyone seen a side mount for a 3/4 ton long bed? I had thought of building one, but seeing as most people are taking them off, I thought I might ask if anyone has one laying around?

    I cut mine carefully off the side of my truck. I think I have a photo of it. If I'm lucky, I'll post it for you. It's a pretty simple deal. They welded it on, but I think I'll bolt mine on.

    Side Mount

    I don't know how to give you the link, but e-bay has a side mount listed with some good pics. Type in "1947 48 49 1951 53 CHEVY TRUCK" It doesn't say side mount anywhere in the title and no picture shows up until you open the folder. It has a starting price of $65 with no bids!

    Posting Flea-Bay Auctions

    What you do is : open two windows , one here with' reply ' clicked , the other window you navigate to the auction (I assume you're watching it) and then you can either place the cursor in the address bar and right click it until it highlights (turns blue) then right click and select " copy shortcut "

    -OR-

    Place the cursor on the item number in the upper right hand of the auction's window , double left click it to highlight it then right click it and select " copy " , now use your tab key to open the _other_ window , the one here with the reply , and place the cursor in the message area and right click , select " paste " and whichever you copied , the address or the item number , will <magically> appear .

    Sounds complicated but once you've done it a couple times , it's dead simple ~ I figured it out all by myself.... :rolleyes:

    I'd LOVE to find a slide out under bed spare tire carrier , even a nasty old beat up rusty one...(hint :rolleyes: )

    Under Bed Slide Out Spare Tire Carrier

    No ;

    It was the original fittment before they went to the bar typ .

    It's a serious PIA and the first time any farmer or tradesman dragged it out on a dirt road , it was discarded :rolleyes:

    I'm not sure where but there's pictures of it here and there....

    I might have just attched a pic to this message , might be the wrong one tho' :confused:

    Interesting...I was not aware of this.

    Is it for early years only?

    I'll keep my eyes open for one of these.
