My engine is a 56 - 235, with distributor # 1112403. I would like to replace the distributor drive gear pin. Anybody know the size/diameter of the gear pin or who sells them? Also where is the correct factory postion of number 1 on the cap and where should the grease cup pointing. Thanks.

? Question, Have you taken the distributor in to your local auto parts store? That pin should be available as it is a small round pin. The #1 plug on the cap is followed (clockwise) by #5 , #3, #6, #2, #3, then #4. The vacuum pot points towards the front of the engine (or radiator). Hope this helps. If it will not start at all, try rotating the distributor 180 degress.
