so i just recently picked up a 66 c-10 rolling chassis ad dont really know the proper way to do a couple of things. 1st i have a big block chevy dynoed at 650 hp and i want it in the truck ive been looking for headars and can not locate a set also I need frame mounts , i found some custom tubular mounts but i am looking for more cost effective way of getting the job done.
and last but not leats i want to put this truck down low who makes a good spring/lowering kit to put this truck in the dirt.

any help or ideas for the build would be very much apperciated.

Early Classic Ent get my vote for lowering these trucks.

For motor mounts look for a set of big block truck motor mount towers from 70's-80's.
I think the tubular mounts you looked at were probably for small blocks.

Keep in mind that the smaller valve covers will be needed on that big block for clearance of firewall and master cylinder.

The only advice I can give you on headers is to look for 3/4 length, NOT full length headers is you plan on dropping the stance of the truck.

It sounds like your opening a can of worms with that size motor. The tranny, driveshaft and rear end cannot handle that much HP. I'm pretty sure they are only rated for around 350 to 400 hp. Also boxing the frame and adding some more crossmembers might not be a bad idea.

I have to agree with Drabo. With that much power creates a lot of torgue and twist. but as far as Headers what about shorty's that dump down in the middle of the block . then u can have custom exhaust form there Just an idea!!! Kilroy was here!!!!
